I’m Losing It!

I can’t believe I forgot Ariels Vet appointment at CCI this morning! I even called and confirmed yesterday and then today I’m sitting at my desk thinking “Am I forgetting something?” YES!!!! I jump up and run out of the office with Ariel, manage to forget my phone so I can’t call them and tell them I’m late. I feel like such an idiot. I need a break, a big one;)

Will they follow the law?

Found out that the Animal Regulation officer had a little visit with the idiots down the road. I am hoping they now have a new religion regarding their unmanageable dog;) We are going to take the walk tonight and see what happens. If that dog is loose we were told to call right away. I have this feeling that they were not very cooperative with the officer. Again, idiots of the highest order.

Stupid People and their Dogs

Yesterday morning I took Ariel for a walk down our quiet country road. It’s about 3 miles round trip. There has been an on going problem with a couple who lives on this road where they do nothing to control their dog. It roams around free all day. Every time we come up to the house it runs down, jumps on me and my dogs, causes all kinds of leash problems and follows us to the end of the road and back. I am beginning to hate that dog. It was cute when it was a puppy, but now it’s a gangly year old with no manners whatsoever. I used to return it to them and they never even knew it was missing! Idiots. The owners are totally clueless. Yesterday was the last straw for me. As the dog charged down on us I started yelling for it to go home, get back etc. The dog totally ignored my demands and chased us down the road. The owners came out of the house and I yelled to them to please leash their dog or put it in the house. It bothers us every time we walk the road. Their response was that they lived on 100 acres of private property and she could go wherever she wanted. I was so pissed I just kept walking and she kept talking – have no idea what she was saying, but it wasn’t an apology that’s for sure. I was so hot with anger that I walked up the last hill at record speed! On my way back I had to pass by the house yet again. Here comes the dog again. I tell it to get back, here comes the male owner down from the house. I say to him he needs to control his dog, she is a problem for people walking on the road. He says it ’s private property. I said the road is not and I live on this road, control your animal. He says she is free to wander and escort people and dogs she meets down the road. I said not this dog. God I was MAD!!!! he could not even get the dog to come to him. She is a totally out of control animal.

I called Rob farther out and ranted about the whole thing. Next thing we did was go down to the animal shelter and filed a complaint. There is a leash law and the dog is not supposed to be running free. I can’t wait till they get nailed. If they don’t make an effort we have the number of their landlord and I would love to use it. Stupid people! They have ruined that road.

Ariel at 15 weeks

Not much to talk about…

Good grief – not much to post about unfortunately. Jaff and I are meeting at Home Despot to look at outdoor furniture for fathers day – a surprise for R. We’ll see what they have if anything. I’m picky and poor, not a good combination;) Ariel got her third set of shots today. When I took her in there were 11 little 8 week old labX puppies being processed  – ALL YELLOW! How to tell them apart I don’t know, thank God for the colored collars. Almost time to hit the road – looking forward to Friday!

Betsy Matriculates Back to CCI Saturday:(

Well the day has finally arrived -  the dreaded Saturday that we return Betsy to CCI – cci.org:( We are going to miss her so much, she is such a wonderful puppy. We have very high hopes for her – she is so well behaved and so calm. (Unlike little Miss springs in her feet Rista;) I don’t think she is going to be released back to us this time. We can’t know for sure but she seems to be just the right personality to become a service dog. Surprisingly the one thing she is not good at is retrieving and she is half retriever! She can do so many other things though. She will be in advanced training for at least 2 months before we hear anything back about how she’s doing. That’s the hard part, waiting. Good luck Miss Betsy, you are the best and we love you! We hope you make it, we really do.

The Dan Reid Memorial Bagpiping Competion

Here we all are at the Dan Reid Memorial Bagpiping Competion last Saturday night. I love bagpipes! It is always held at the Marines Memorial in San Francisco – a lovely place. The music was great and the food fantastic. Fun! I just wish I could get Rob to wear a kilt. Kilts make Scottish men look sexy:)dscn0069
